De allerbeste en helderste van onze cinnabars. Chinese cinnaber wordt historisch gezien als de beste beschouwd. Dit is niet alleen omdat China al vroeg het productieproces van vermiljoen begreep, maar omdat ze een systeem ontwikkelden voor het scheiden van de verschillende gekleurde deeltjes in een lijmoplossing vergelijkbaar met het proces onderzocht door Michael Price

Historie:

Sinds de oudheid (nat.), al gebruikt door de Egyptenaren en Hebreeërs. Sinds de 13e eeuw door de Chinesen. In Europa industriële productie uit 1778.Tegenwoordig is de Cinnabar een zeldzame, kostbare kleur.
